Overview
Anode Cells, also known as Anolyte Cells, are critical components in cathodic electrophoretic coating (e-coating) systems. They are used to isolate the anode from the paint bath while allowing ions to pass through a selective membrane. This ensures consistent bath quality and improves the durability and appearance of the final coating.

 

Working Principle
The Anode Cell consists of an internal titanium anode and an ion-exchange membrane. When a DC voltage is applied, positively charged ions (such as amines and other counter-ions from the e-coating bath) migrate through the membrane into the anolyte solution. This process:

  • Maintains the bath's pH balance
  • Improves paint stability
  • Reduces contamination and paint defects
